WHAT IS THE HYDRATION SYSTEMS MADE OF?
Our bladders are made out of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) and all of our hydration systems are BPA and PVC free and meet all FDA and EU regulations. Our Hydrapak Elite and Shape-Shift bladders have a No Leak Warranty through Hydrapak. Our recycable bladders are made out of PET/NY/PE and are super durable and leak proof.
HOW DO I OPEN MY NEW BLADDER?
New bladders can be somewhat difficult to open when they are brand new. But rest assured, the bladders will open! The following steps will walk your through the initial process of opening our bladder. After the bladder is open for the first time, it will be much easier to open for the rest of the life of the product.
1. Remove The Slider Top

2. Flip The Flap Up

3. Locate The Front Handle

4. Locate The Rear Handle

5. Pull The Handles Apart From Each Other

CAN I HEAT UP MY BLADDER?
The Hydrapak hydration systems are 100% BPA & PVC free and work in a wide range of temperatures. The systems can be frozen and can handle a max temp of 60° C / 140° F
CAN I FREEZE MY BLADDER?
Yes all of our hydration bladders can be frozen but we have a few recommendations to follow if you freeze them.
- Please don't fill the bladder all the way - ice expands and if it's completely full, it could split open the plastic.
- Please be sure not to drop it, as an impact while at a low temperature can cause the plastic to split open.
- When you remove your flask or bladder from the freezer, add a little bit of cold water to it so that it can break up any sharp ice shards that might puncture the plastic film.
WHAT LUBRICATION DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR THE CONNECTOR? (PLUG & PLAY)
To make the lifetime of your hydration system as long as it could possibly be we recommend lubricating the o-ring before each use. We recommend following Hydrapaks recommendations for lubrication and to not use any other lubricants. Hydrapak recommend using silicone, glycerin, or beeswax-based lubricants applied to the o-ring. Just apply a small smear on the o-ring - a little goes a long way! Do not use petroleum-based lubricants, or olive oil, coconut oil, or any other types of cooking oil as they cause the seal to swell, and will make the system sticky and hard to release.
HOW DO I USE THE SHAPE-SHIFT BAFFLE?
The shape-shift baffle allowing you to make your 2.5L bladder into a 3.0L bladder can be tricky the first time. This video made by HydraPak will show you how to use the baffle:
